Stefanos Souvatzoglou
At the age of 23, Stefanos has yet to finish his studies at the Athens School of Fine Arts (2009).
But it is obvious when you see his bronze sculptures that he is already competent in depicting the human form in this difficult medium.
His skill is due to the fact that he has worked with his father, Yanni Souvatzoglou, also a multi-talented artist, since the age of 7. Stefanos literally grew up in his father's studio -- watching, learning, helping -- and had access to a vast array of materials with which to experiment. And of course, he had access to the expert technical advice of his father. When asked what mediums he prefers, Stefanos is hard-pressed to choose. Metals, glass, oils, acrylic or a combination. His bronzes depict nudes exquisitely poised and frozen in the midst of exuberant motion.
Stefanos has already exhibited in art galleries in Greece and abroad and his work is part of several important private collections. Some of his commissons include very big sculptures and interior design structures in famous nightlife establishments, such as the Letom night club and Doors bar-restaurant.
